Tango Night at Parque Centenario: Tuesday 29/3

Next Tuesday, March 29th at 8 pm, the Orquesta del Tango de Buenos Aires will present a repertoire of tango classics at the Parque Centenario Amphitheater.

The Ministry of Culture, through the General Directorate of Music, invites to a pure tango concert at the Parque Centenario Amphitheater, with free admission until capacity is reached.

The group, directed by Maestros Néstor Marconi and Juan Carlos Cuacci, will present a delicate selection of classics such as "los mareados", "taquito militar" and a selection of Carlos Gardel, among others. They will be accompanied by the magnificent voice of Lautaro Mazza.

The recital is designed for 1500 neighbors of Buenos Aires who are looking to immerse themselves in an unforgettable show. There will be different dates throughout the year to enjoy the exceptional Orquesta del Tango de Buenos Aires and in this opening it will be able to show off a repertoire known and valued by all with a first class equipment.

The Orquesta del Tango de Buenos Aires, a permanent organism of the Dirección General de Música del Gobierno de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, was born in 1980. Conceived as a basic typical formation (piano, double bass, violins and bandoneons), it was expanded with the incorporation of cellos, violas, clarinets, flutes, oboes, electric guitar and percussion, according to the needs of the repertoire. It is currently conducted by Maestros Néstor Marconi and Juan Carlos Cuacci.

Since its beginnings, it has given concerts in outstanding venues in our city, nationally and abroad. In addition to performing an important educational function giving didactic concerts in schools in Buenos Aires.

Awards: Golden Disc for En vivo en el Colón (2001), Diploma al Mérito Fundación Konex as Tango Ensemble (1995 and 2005). Latin Grammy nominations 2011 for their works 30 Años and Homenaje a Cátulo Castillo and Aníbal Troilo; Latin Grammy as Best tango album 2015 and the Carlos Gardel Award, as Best instrumental orchestra album 2016, both awards for Homenaje a Astor Piazzolla, their latest work released.
