Mercedes Simone, the 'lady of tango'.

The singer Mercedes Simone, known as the lady of tango, died on October 2, 1990 in Buenos Aires, at the age of 86, due to a cardiorespiratory arrest. Simone was one of the great female voices of tango and kept her popularity intact for several decades thanks to her many performances in the theaters of downtown Buenos Aires, on the radio and her tours through different Latin American countries.

Her works as a composer are also remembered in Argentina, especially the tango Cantando , which became a hymn during the golden age of Argentine popular music.
