International Tango Festival in Medellín 2021

Every year the city of Medellín dresses up in tango and pays tribute to the Argentine singer-songwriter Carlos Gardel, who died on June 24, 1935 in a plane crash at the Olaya Herrera airport in Medellín. The Medellín International Tango Festival is the most important cultural event of the month of June because it brings together the best exponents of this South American music genre.

This event is considered the most important in the capital of Antioquia. It has celebrated 15 editions with presentations of national and international musical groups, dancers and singers. Every year, renowned performers honor the city's stages and celebrate tango.

Among the venues available in Medellín for this event are the Lido Theater, the Orquideorama of the Botanical Garden, the Tobón Uribe Theater, the Gardel House and the Pies Descalzos Park.

The city of Medellín, capital of tango in Colombia, is one of the places in the world where tango culture is promoted with the greatest fervor.

The International Tango Festival "City of Medellin" has three competitions:
The National Tango Dance Championship
The contest of Tango interpreters
The contest of designers and sculptors of Medellín.

In this new edition the festival promotes the participation in the Dance Championship and the Singing Contest of the XV International Tango Festival City of Medellin.
