Distinction for the "Tango Jazz Quartet".

The musical group received this afternoon in the Salón Dorado of the Legislature of the City the Diploma of Cultural Interest. The award was presented by Deputy María Luisa González Estevarena, author of the initiative, who said: "tango is a sentimental melody that shows the essence of the porteños" and they have achieved "a new and wonderful concept of our music".

The musical group fuses the melodic and rhythmic patterns of tango with jazz. It is formed by its director Gustavo Firmenich on tenor saxophone and clarinet, accompanied by Horacio Acosta on piano, Mauricio Pasculli on drums and Martín Rao de Vita on bass.

The legislative declaration states that "With more than 20 international tours and more than 30 countries visited, Tango Jazz Quartet performed in the most prestigious places in the world such as San Jose Summer Jazz Festival in San Jose, California; Smalls Jazz Club in New York, Shanghai Jazz Festival, Nisville International Jazz Festival in Serbia, Tango and Jazz Festival in Siberia - Russia, Hong Kong Jazz Festival, Joy of Jazz Festival in Johannesburg, Sunset-Sunside in Paris, Porgy & Bess in Vienna, The Music Village in Brussels, Snug Harbor in New Orleans, Bflat in Berlin, among many others; Sunset-Sunside in Paris; Porgy & Bess in Vienna, The Music Village in Brussels; Snug Harbor in New Orleans, Bflat in Berlin, among many others, as can be seen, he has crossed several continents taking the music of Buenos Aires to other latitudes, reaping success along the way".

The last time they performed internationally was in August and September 2021, when they recorded live their material "The Loft Jazz Club Next European Tour 2021".
