The Chacarita Neighborhood Day was instituted on June 28th by Law 805, sanctioned on July 2nd, 2002, by the Buenos Aires Legislature. The date is due to the fact that on June 28, 1645, Nicolás de Carvajal, as owner of the plot known as Lot No. 20, donated it to the Society of Jesus.
