On Friday, October 7, the musical Experiencia Tita, Llamarada Pasional opened at the Teatro Astral. Since then, and in 12 unique performances, Corrientes Street pays tribute to the great Argentine diva through the talent of Ivanna Rossi, Micaela Suárez, Vanesa Butera and Elis García, who will bring back to the stage the work of the legendary actress and singer.
Directed by Valeria Ambrosio, the play proposes a challenging reunion with Tita Merello, her music, her language and her ghosts. An immersive musical format, with an innovative staging to remember and honor the "Argentine brunette".
Four artists portray the iconic Merello through a dreamlike and poetic journey through her many facets. Twenty years after her death (December 24, 2002), a necessary, disruptive musical, with great technological deployment, to pay tribute to one of the greatest Argentine figures of the twentieth century.
Aligned to a transgressive and innovative proposal, the music created and reversioned by Experiencia Tita, Llamarada Pasional, finds numerous textures, where traditional tango is intervened by current musical genres. Nourished with dreamlike moments, of great sensitivity, as well as with melodies and agile rhythms, like the typical tango drumbeats. A unique mixture that goes hand in hand with the demanding performance of the actresses, as well as the stunning visual production.
In the words of its director: "His biography is well known; our intention is to reinterpret and illuminate his inner, human and artistic experience, in order to highlight his legacy, an extremely current legacy, worthy of a character to whom we could give the nickname of classic".
Venturing into the production of shows, the prestigious businessman Carlos Carrión (Atlas productions) bets on an iconic character, a complex technical staging and a team led by outstanding professionals of the performing arts.
