In the city of Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan, on June 19, the ninth edition of the Official Preliminary of Tango BA of that city was held by the Latina Co. The event took place at the Shibuya Sakura Hall where the judges were Carlos Rivarola, Daniel Urquilla, Mikage Urushibara, Yoichi Araki, Eiichiro Ohya, Kazumi Kuwabara, Noriko Tanada, Yuriko "Lam" Kobayashi and Rui Saito.
The event, which was attended by more than 1000 people, included the official competitions of Tango de Pista and Stage Tango. There was also an unofficial competition called "Milonguera, Milonguero" and exhibitions in which Carlos Rivarola and Kazumi, Jorge Torres and Chizuko, Daniel Urquilla and Mihoko, among other couples, performed.
More than 120 couples from different cities of Japan participated, such as Tokyo, Osaka, Kanagawa, Chiba, Saitama, Fukuoka, Aichi, Fukushima, Hyogo. Couples from Korea also participated, coming from cities such as Seoul, Incheon, Chungcheongbuk-do, Gyeonggi-do, Busan.
In the Track Tango category, the winners were the couple London; Solange, from Korea.
In the Stage Tango category, the winners were the couple of Ezequiel and Yuka, from Japan.
