Pugliese, Pugliese, Pugliese

Today, July 25, marks a new anniversary of the death of Osvaldo Pugliese, the magical pianist, conductor, composer and tango icon.

Villa Crespo was the place that saw him grow up and also his favorite. In fact, whenever he had the chance, he used to say that it was "the best neighborhood in the world". Of course, nowadays this hides several corners that remember and honor him. For example, the monument at Drago and Scalabrini Ortíz and the Malabia subway station.

There is a legend that claims that he is a saint, the "San Pugliese". One of the versions assures that it originated in a Charly García's concert in the 90s. The sound didn't work and they couldn't find a solution. So, they played a Pugliese record and the problem was instantly fixed! That's how he earned the fame of anti mufa and the myth that he brought luck began to grow.
