La Peregrina: traveling tango festival


Starting January 8, the traveling festival that is part of the Cultural Institute's "Abrazadxs al Tango" program will take dance couples, musicians and classes to different municipalities in the province of Buenos Aires.

The Cultural Institute of the Province of Buenos Aires announces the arrival of "Milonga La Peregrina", the itinerant dance and tango festival that is part of the "Abrazadxs al Tango" program and that will visit the municipalities of the Province of Buenos Aires during the summer of 2023 as part of ReCreo. The tango proposal will have its first post this Sunday, January 8 from 8:00 pm at the Bolívar Civic Center (Avenida San Martín 580) with the participation of an artistic staff composed of three tango couples, a folklore couple, two TDJ`s and a master of ceremonies. Admission will be free.

"Milonga La Peregrina" contains tango and folklore classes for the whole family, popular dance with rhythms of all times and dance show. At 8:00 p.m. folklore and tango classes for all levels will start. At 21:00 the dance floor will open and at 22:30 it will end with a tango, dance and folklore show.
"Milonga La Peregrina aims to encourage and revalue the discipline, promoting communication, cultural identity, collective participation, social integration and freedom of expression and gender equality," said the Cultural Institute.
Yanina Muzyka and Emmanuel Cassal are dancers and teachers with 13 years of experience together and they develop a new method to understand tango, from a sensitive, playful, common and free side. Keeping the essence of social dance but updating the tools of communication and connection through the Game, they represent Avellaneda as the World Champions of Stage Tango 2021.
Delfina Pissani & Diego Valero from Tandil are a couple that fuses the classic with a contemporary staging of tango on stage. They are close to their students and technical when teaching their classes. Their dance is identified by sobriety, punctiliousness and a fine musical arrangement. They are recognized for their sensitive interpretation of the milonga campera; gaucho musical genre, expression of the Argentine pampas.
Paula Chaves and Ramiro Podestá are the TDJ's in charge of the Milonga "La Peregrina", both from Mar del Plata and with complementary opposite styles at the moment of musicalizing: tangos of the golden age, live orchestras and a medley of classics, great Argentine hits.
Fati Caracoch and Guillermo Cerneaz have more than 20 years of experience in the tango language. They have been working together for a year, and their dancing is characterized by freshness, musicality and versatility in changing roles. As teachers and dancers, their goal is to search for originality and authenticity in their movements, always starting from the sensitive listening of the other.
Cynthia Fattori and Omar Silva are dancers and teachers with more than 30 years of professional experience and will be in charge of the folkloric fragment of the show. The master of ceremonies will be Martín Chili, milonga organizer, dancer, teacher and milonguero.
