Tango at the 37th edition of the European Heritage Days, September 19 and 20

In 2009, Argentine tango became the first element inscribed by UNESCO on the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This recognition celebrates a dance, a music and a culture, rich in infinite possibilities and in constant evolution.

Argentine tango has been practiced in Lyon for many years, creating a local tradition linked to the Argentine experience, but also to other European tango realities.

Created 25 years ago, on the slopes of Croix-Rousse, the association Tango de Soie has always been concerned to ensure the transmission and the values of the tangueras. Nestled in a unique building, which has become a real Tango house, it welcomes beginners or experienced dancers, but also curious and lovers of Argentine culture. Numerous Argentine teachers have stopped there for regular residencies.

Driven by the desire to highlight all facets of tango, Tango de Soie has also created a school orchestra, where musicians discover the secrets of the great tango orchestras, learn to play in a large ensemble and read the musical writing of tango.

Finally, milongas and regular practices allow the inhabitants of this large house to meet, exchange and learn together.
In your turn, come and discover tango, music and the deepest couple dance in the world.
