Cafés porteños: looking at them from the outside

October 26th is celebrated as the Day of the Cafés of Buenos Aires. This date was instituted in commemoration of the opening of the emblematic Café Tortoni in 1858. This year the celebrations will be held on the sidewalks and following strict health protocols.

The Chamber of Cafes and Bars of the Association of Hotels, Restaurants, Confectioneries and Cafes (AHRCC) invites today personalities and city leaders to visit the most traditional bars to share, with sanitary protocols, the rite of having a cup of coffee -and other typical products of the locals- served outdoors with the neighbors. Also, and with the collaboration of the General Directorate of Heritage, Museums and Historical Center of the GCBA, a traveling library will visit the city's Bars Notables.
