Argentina Blossoms: Tango returns to the presenciality

Within the framework of the program Argentina Florece, of the National Ministry of Culture, this Thursday, October 28, the esplanade of the Kirchner Cultural Center will be the stage for a tango program with outstanding figures of the genre.

Ariel Ardit with his typical orchestra, La Fernández Fierro, Dolores Solá, La Cuarta de Fierro and the group Amores Tangos together with singers Cucuza Castiello and Osvaldo Peredo make up the program that will take place at the doors of the building located at Sarmiento 151, in downtown Buenos Aires.

The activity will be divided between the presentations of orchestras and soloists on the central stage and the dance and milonga exhibitions that will take place on the specially prepared dance floor.

"For the dancers it is a very special occasion because we have been a year and a half without dancing, without hugs, without tango," explained Andrea Castelli, a choreographer from La Plata, who was especially called upon to put together the "Florecer tango" block, which will be set to music by DJ Mariano Romero and will be performed by twenty people.

Castelli, a specialist in staging shows in unconventional venues, assured Télam that this Thursday's presentation will be very special.

"On the dance floor there will be 20 dancers who make up ten couples in which the most absolute diversity and plurality is expressed," he said.

The playwright told how she reinvented herself during the pandemic. "For dance it was a tremendous situation," with classes by zoom and without physical contact, "but the experience was positive because we grabbed hold of creation to escape pain and death".

There will also be exhibitions by the dance couples Javier Rodríguez and Moira Castellanos, and Hugo Mastrolorenzo and Agustina Vignau.

The "Argentina Florece" initiative, which organizes artistic shows in open-air stages all over the country, will be an opportunity to celebrate the reunion of live tango and will mark the beginning of a new edition of the Federal, Open, Atypical and Plural Milonga, which will be held every Thursday from November 4 at the Kirchner Cultural Center.

The activities of Argentina Florece are free of charge and do not require prior reservation of tickets. Couples interested in dancing must register at the time of their arrival, respecting the limited capacity established by health protocols.
