From Saturday, July 1 to 8, with a program to get to know and enjoy tango in the City.
The Ministry of Culture of the City, through Impulso Tango, an initiative of the Impulso Cultural platform that seeks to position, make visible and disseminate the milongas, organizes together with the Association of Milonga Organizers (AOM) and the Association of Milongas with Social Sense (MiSeSo) the fifth edition of the Milongas Week, an event that promotes the access of new audiences to the intense milonga activity offered by the City.
Over 50 milongas in more than 25 venues in Buenos Aires will offer classes and live shows to celebrate dance, music and popular culture in different neighborhoods of the City. Free tickets can be picked up at Casa de la Cultura (Av. de Mayo 575), Monday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm (maximum 2 tickets per person until availability runs out). Tickets can be used for both classes and milongas in the program.
Among the varied program that can be enjoyed, there will be live orchestras playing to accompany the dance. On Saturday 1/7 at 11 pm at La Viruta de Solanas (Armenia 1366) the Orquesta Tango Bardo, an ensemble that has performed at festivals in France, Spain, China, Thailand, Chile, among other countries. Also, to close the event, on Saturday 8/7 at 10 pm at 3 Arroyos Milonga (Av. Córdoba 5064), the Orquesta San Osvaldo, a group that recreates songs by maestro Pugliese.
